More Than Just a Market

A coastal town with a fairground, amusement rides, and stalls in the foreground. Residential buildings and a church are visible behind the fairground. The town is situated near the ocean with cliffs in the background, and boats are docked at a marina.

Ilfracombe Market is, at its heart, a traditional seafront market — bringing together local traders, makers, and the community.

Alongside the regular market days, there are occasionally additional attractions and events happening nearby, adding to the atmosphere.

This includes local highlights such as Jack in the Green on Saturday 3rd May, as well as visiting family attractions and the return of the summer fair later in July.

With the coastal setting, fresh sea air, and something different to see each week, it’s a simple, relaxed day out for all ages.

Jack in the Green brought colour, music and May Day tradition through Ilfracombe Market, with drums, dancing, Maypole fun and a brilliant community atmosphere on the seafront.

Taking place on Saturday 9th May, the Watermouth Castle Artisan Market is a curated event set just outside the front of the grounds at Watermouth Castle.

This is a new and growing market, and we’re building it carefully to create the right mix of traders and a great experience for visitors.

This market focuses on quality makers, artisans, and unique products, creating a slightly different feel from the seafront market.
