Ilfracombe Market is more than just stalls. Alongside our regular market days, the area comes alive throughout the year with seasonal attractions, family entertainment, and special events.

From summer fairs and visiting attractions to crazy golf and bouncy castles, there’s always something happening nearby — making the market a great day out for all ages.

Egg Decorating Competition

Sunday the 5th April

Join us at Ilfracombe Market for a fun, family-friendly Easter Egg Decorating Competition taking place on the seafront on Sunday 5th April.

Bring along your decorated egg and take part during the market day. All entries will be displayed in a gazebo, with judging carried out by the public.

Prizes and rosettes will be awarded across three age categories: Under 8, ages 8–15, and 16+. Entries must be submitted by 11am, with judging and results announced shortly after.

This is a free, informal activity open to all ages — simply arrive with your decorated egg and join in as part of the market day.

Watermouth Castle Artisan Market

We’re excited to launch the very first Watermouth Castle Artisan Market, set outside the stunning grounds of Watermouth Castle.

This curated market brings together a selection of quality artisan traders, makers, and local producers, offering visitors a unique shopping experience in a beautiful coastal setting.

With 500+ visitors attending last year’s opening event, this is a strong opportunity for traders looking to reach a ready and engaged audience at the start of the season.

Visitors can enjoy a relaxed market atmosphere alongside everything Watermouth Castle has to offer, making it a full day out for families, tourists, and locals alike.
